To support the construction industry in Bangladesh by providing cheaper alternate to imported finished steel products in form of structural steel and semi finished steel in form of billets by way of direct use of plates and sections recovered from the discarded ships and providing raw material as melting scrap for the production of deformed bars and light sections, PHP Group by adopting the concept of recycling has set up a ship breaking yard I year 1982 at Chittagong, under the company now known as PHP ship breaking and recycling industries Ltd.







The company has capacity to handle and cut the ships of a total approximately 400,000 MT every year to recover steel both in form of reusable steel plates sections as well as steel melting scrap apart from lot of valuable items including diesel generators, furniture and metals like copper and aluminum. The facility is stretched in an area of 60 acres of land and providing employment to approx. 2000 people including casual labor.
