On returning to Dhaka, Bangladesh, she worked for seventeen years in the Immigration Offices of three different High Commissions - the British, the Australian and finally the Canadian High Commission. At the time of leaving she was Immigration Program Officer following specialized training in immigration affairs in Ottawa.
